Microsoft has recently launched a new AI feature in its Edge browser, named Copilot Mode. This feature has been introduced with the aim of making browsing easier and smarter. With the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), an attempt has been made to give users a better experience in tasks like search, chat and navigation.
What does Copilot Mode do?
The biggest advantage of Copilot Mode is that it tries to concentrate your browsing in one place. Now users can search from the same page, ask questions on a topic and also navigate the website. The special thing is that all this can be done from the same input box.
Tabs comparison and voice navigation
With the help of this mode, users can compare multiple open tabs simultaneously – that too without changing any tab. For example, if you are thinking of buying a mobile phone and have opened several websites simultaneously, then Copilot Mode can organize and compare them for you.
Apart from this, Microsoft has also provided voice navigation facility in it, so that you can control the browser by speaking.
Data access and privacy
Copilot Mode will also be given the option to give limited access to the user’s browsing history, login details, and other information in the coming time. This means that in the future Copilot will be able to book a hotel on your behalf or manage your daily routine tasks.
However, Microsoft has clarified that Copilot will be active only when the user turns it on. Also, when it is working in the background, visual cues will continue to be seen on the screen.
Where and how will this feature be available?
Copilot Mode is currently available on both Windows and Mac platforms. It is being offered free for a limited time in all Copilot markets. If a user does not want to use it, he can disable it (opt-out) by going to the settings of the Edge browser.
