OpenAI GPT-5 Launched August 2025
OpenAI, which is rapidly advancing in the digital field of artificial intelligence (AI), it has launched a new version of its intelligent chatbot OpenAI GPT-5. The company claims that it is the most advanced model till date. But at the same time, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also believes that this model is still far from working like humans.
GPT-5 has improved capabilities like coding, creative writing and answering questions. It can work in all three mediums – voice, image and text. Apart from this, with the new update, it can now also connect to services like Gmail, Google Calendar and Contacts (if users allow).

Another step towards AGI
OpenAI says that this new model is an “important step” towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). AGI is when an AI system starts thinking and making decisions like humans. However, Altman clearly said that OpenAI GPT-5 is still far from that point.
He said that GPT-5 does not have the ability to “continuously learn”, which is considered necessary for AGI. “It still does not include many important things,” he said.
Improved but limited
GPT-5 chatbot is more mature and balanced than its previous ChatGPT version. For example, it can now do more accurate coding, create better websites or apps, and also prepare creative articles better than before.
According to OpenAI, now this model also reduces the possibility of giving wrong information and tries to be more sensitive and useful in answering user questions.
Improvements in both health and language areas
Another important change in GPT-5 is that it will now respond more cautiously to health-related queries. The company said that it can better recognize serious physical or mental health symptoms. However, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also clarified that it is not a substitute for a professional or intelligent doctor.
In addition, GPT-5 chatbot now converses in a more intelligent with “natural and human” language. According to the company, its writing is now less “flattering” and more balanced than the previous version.
Are human jobs at risk?
Given the rapidly growing capabilities of AI, there is concern that it may replace many jobs in the coming times. Dario Amodei, A CEO of an AI company named Anthropic, he says that in the next tree to five years AI may affect many pro or entry-level office jobs.
Full access for Pro users
GPT-5 is currently available to all ChatGPT users, but its full access will be available only to Pro subscribers with $20/month. Limited features will be available in the free version.
