US government and OpenAI partnership

US government and OpenAI partnership: US govt to use ChatGPT Enterprise for $1/year. OpenAI expands AI use in defense, admin, and global infrastructure with focus on data security.

US government and OpenAI partnership

OpenAI has recently announced that it will allow the US government to use its ChatGPT Enterprise version, and that too for just $1. This service will be provided to the executive employees of the US federal government for one year.

This decision will be implemented in collaboration with the US General Services Administration (GSA). OpenAI believes that through this partnership, government work can be made faster and easier.

OpenAI wrote in its blog, “If government employees are provided with a secure and strong AI tool, they will be able to solve people’s problems more quickly and better.”

Full focus will be on data security

The company has also clarified that ChatGPT Enterprise does not use users’ data to train or improve its AI model. The same policy will also apply to the use of the federal government, which will maintain data privacy.

It is worth noting that OpenAI had talked about bringing AI tools in the government sector earlier this year. Now this step is being considered a big part in that direction.

Use of AI will increase in military and administrative work

Another big information has also come with this news that the US Department of Defense has given a contract of about 200 million dollars to OpenAI. Its purpose is to increase the use of generative AI in military work.

OpenAI says that it wants to show that administrative work can be made easier by using AI properly. For example, providing better health facilities to army personnel, strengthening cyber security, etc.

New plan started for other countries as well

OpenAI has started a new initiative called “OpenAI for Countries”. Its objective is to help other countries to build their AI infrastructure. The US government is a partner in this scheme.

Under this scheme, building a data center and providing local versions of ChatGPT are included. This will involve local investment as well as OpenAI’s participation.

This move comes at a time when OpenAI is facing competition from Chinese AI company DeepSeek, which is providing effective AI models at low cost. This has further intensified the competition in the AI sector globally.
